While Hanson is good in setting out the causes of Trump’s victory, he falls short when it comes to making recommendations for the future.
We do not live in the best of all possible worlds. There are monsters inside each of us. Those monsters must be made coherent, and given their place, or they will consume us.
What I have outlined above are valid critiques of Trump’s policies which need to be vigorously pursued through constitutional channels and via Senatorial and Congressional opposition.
However, if we look to other situations I think there is at least grounds for further reflection. Let’s consider two situations.
The question is: Is that entirely a good thing? As our research – and Trump’s rise – shows, not necessarily.
