In the first half of the podcast, Claire and I discuss how overblown the Women's World Cup kiss scandal is, and how much we enjoyed Heather Mac Donald's piece about it in Quillette.
Heather's essay invites us to reflect on the contradictory beliefs that women are strong and empowered, yet simultaneously so easily victimised by minor transgressions.
We then go on to discuss the Australian referendum on the Voice to Parliament and how impressed we were by Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price's address to the National Press Club, which espoused a vision of Indigenous Australians as empowered, autonomous individuals, not perpetual victims of colonisation.
I hope you like this week's episode. Stay tuned for upcoming interviews with sex researchers Rob Brooks and William Costello, heterodox sociologist Andrew Glover, and more.
