PODCAST 74: The makers of The Rise of Jordan Peterson talk about their controversial documentary

Patricia Marcoccia and Maziar Ghaderi of Holding Space Films talk to Quillette’s Jonathan Kay about the time they spent chronicling the daily life of Canada’s most famous public intellectual—and how critics on both sides reacted to The Rise of Jordan Peterson.

  1. Could this podcast possibly have more awkward edits? :upside_down_face:

  2. Where is Dr. P these days? He seems to have dropped off the planet.

  3. Jordan Peterson has declined public appearances since around October last year, the work load of his world tour and the constant attacks have taken a heavy toll. He suffered some sort of breakdown I believe. He’s taking a well earned break and working on the final edit of his new book. God bless him, I hope he’s feeling better.

  4. Thanks for the update. I wasn’t sure how long he could keep up that pace. And he is a rather sensitive soul. Yes, God bless you doc.

  5. In addition to the other stressors his wife became suddenly life threateningly ill. All in all he’s been through a rough time and if nothing else is taking a well deserved and necessary sabbatical. Miss him though.

  6. Agree. I really hope they both make a full recovery.

  7. I purchased the movie on I tunes. As a fan I found it very interesting, well worth watching.

  8. Thanks I just found that same thing on the web. Hang tough doc, we needya.
