I’m your host this week, Iona Italia. My guest is Michael Shermer. Michael is a scholar, writer, and journalist. He is also the founder and publisher of Skeptic magazine and the host of the podcast, The Michael Shermer Show. He has an academic background in evolutionary psychology and taught critical thinking to university students for decades. He was also a monthly columnist for Scientific American for eighteen years. Michael is the author of a number of books on epistemology and ethics, including Why People Believe Weird Things (with Stephen Jay Gould); Why Darwin Matters; The Science of Good and Evil, The Moral Arc; Heavens on Earth; Giving the Devil His Due; and Conspiracy: Why the Rational Believe the Irrational.
