Maureen Callahan us a bright blonde white woman with red lipstick.

Maureen Callahan is an award-winning investigative journalist, columnist, commentator, and the host of the podcast, The Nerve. She is the author of Poker Face: The Rise and Rise of Lady Gaga; Champagne Supernovas: Kate Moss, Marc Jacobs, Alexander McQueen, and the 90s Renegades Who Remade Fashion; and Ask Not: The Kennedys and the Women They Destroyed. Today, I’ll be talking to her about her book American Predator: The Hunt for the Most Meticulous Serial Killer of the 21st Century, a detailed account of the crimes of Israel Keyes and of the police and FBI investigations that followed his arrest for the abduction and murder of a young barista as the investigators attempted to get Keyes to reveal the names of his other victims and the locations of their corpses—efforts that went badly awry. American Predator is an enthralling read and a fascinating and sobering look at the actions of a psychopath as well as providing detailed insights into real-life police procedure. I hope you enjoy my conversation with Maureen Callahan.
